Artist Statement
Los Arboles De La Noche (The trees of the night) shows trees in their relationship to the built environment after dark.
It’s natural to assume that they are completely unaware of or uncaring about our existence. But perhaps the trees loom ominously above our homes, plotting revenge for our destruction of their forests.
It’s possible that ripping up our sidewalks and breaching our foundations is not really random.
Or perchance they are silent sentinels who guard us in our sleep.
