Harvard Forest Artist Residency
My current residency at the Harvard Forest in Petersham, Massachusetts involves the clash of Native American and European cultures in the mid 17th century, the deities of these peoples, and the economics-based, human-made changes to the landscape ever since.
This conceptual art project encompasses history, theology, anthropology, economics, botany, zoology, forestry, chemistry, meteorology and other disciplines, requiring many visits and overnight stays in the Forest over four seasons.
I am using original digital cinematography, photography, documentary, audio recording and timelapse to create an immersive multimedia experience/ site-specific installation at Harvard's Fisher Museum.
Many thanks to David Foster, Clarisse Hart and the other Scientists and Staff at Harvard Forest for their generous artist grant, support and cooperation.
