David "Tall Pine" White
David Tall Pine White is a member of the tribal council for the Chaubunagungamaug band of Nipmucks; a Nipmuck Language Instructor at the Hassanamisco Indian Museum in Grafton, MA; and a Language Consultant and Actor in the PBS American Experience series, “We Shall Remain”.

He is a licensed Electrician who grew up in Sturbridge and currently lives in Brimfield, MA.

His Nipmuc name, "Tall Pine", was given to him by the revered tribal spiritual leader, Little Turtle, because David was quite tall as a boy. Little Turtle was one of the few remaining speakers of Nipmuc. Many years later, just before passing away, he asked Tall Pine to carry on the tradition of teaching the language.

According to David, "The Language belongs to the Land."
